Blattläuse saugen Pflanzensäfte ab und werden normalerweise an den Stielspitzen gefunden. Ein starker Befall bedeckt die Blätter mit klebrigem Honigtau. Auf dem Honigtau kann eine schwarze, rußige Form wachsen. Die Insekten können grün, weiß, rosa oder schwarz sein.
