Tool Review: Dewalt D55168 Kompressor

Nenn mich altmodisch, aber ich mag meine pneumatischen Werkzeuge. Und obwohl ich wünschte, ich könnte den Schlauch manchmal auswerfen, ist die praktisch störungsfreie und no-fuz-Leistung der Werkzeuge schwer zu ignorieren. Was ich noch nicht so viel Glück hatte, ist der Kompressor, der die Luft liefert.

Ich habe die meiste Zeit meiner Karriere mit Twin-Stacks verbracht und sie bieten die meiste Luft und Verlässlichkeit, die ich brauche, aber die älteren haben ein böses "Draw" (was bedeutet, dass sie oft versuchen, mit den Breakern zu beginnen). So weit wie neue gehen, ist das Arbeiten im selben Raum mit ihnen wie ein Erdbeben in einer Flasche: Wenn sie laufen - was oft der Fall ist - schüttelt der Boden, der Lärm reißt und trägt sie - oder bewegt sie aus der Weg - ist eine Übung in Frustration.

Bei 200 PSI speichert das Gerät eine Ladung Luft für zwei Zimmerleute, die beispielsweise ein Deck umrahmen oder einen Zaun bauen. Und bei 15 Gallonen hat genug Reserve Luft um mit dem Nageln von einem Sperrholz-Deck, das ich auf einem kürzlich renovierten Dach gemacht habe, mitzuhalten. Das Gerät läuft, aber es hält - und lässt Nägel nicht stolz wie eine kleinere, niedrigere Druckeinheit würde. Ich mag diese Luft auch im Laden; Weil so viel Luft unter hohem Druck gespeichert wird, läuft das Gerät kaum, wenn ich ein Holzbearbeitungsprojekt mache. Manchmal vergesse ich es dort. Der 1,8-PS-Elektromotor befindet sich auf der Oberseite des vertikalen Tanks. Es läuft ruhig nach Kompressor-Standards (78dBA) und startet mit einem niedrigeren Draw als es scheint, als andere Einheiten, die ich besitze (ich kann sagen, basierend auf der Anzahl der Breakers I habe nicht gestolpert mit). Die vertikale Ausrichtung bedeutet auch, dass es mobiler ist als es scheint. Sicher, es rollt auf Rädern, aber ich kann es auch an beiden Enden leicht anheben und tragen. Es ist einfacher mit zwei Leuten und ich wünschte, es gäbe ein paar Tragegriffe, aber es ist für mich genauso einfach, einen Doppelstapel zu tragen. Außerdem ist es leicht, in den Anhänger zu stecken oder flach in der Ladefläche zu liegen. Und ich bringe es nicht in ein Haus mit mir auf einer Baustelle. Ich stationiere es irgendwo draußen und führe Schläuche zum Arbeitsplatz. Viel einfacher.
