Katsura-Baum wächst am besten in einer sonnigen Lage und in einem feuchten Boden. Der Baum erreicht eine reife Höhe und Verbreitung von 50 bis 60 Fuß. Die Herbstfarbe ist gelb mit etwas Rot und das neue Wachstum ist rötlich. Der Baum hat ein flaches Wurzelsystem und kann schwer zu transplantieren sein. Katsura-Baum hat eine ausbreitende Gewohnheit und macht einen guten Schattenbaum. Die Wachstumsrate ist schnell, wenn sie jung ist, verlangsamt sich aber mit dem Alter. Katsura-Baum hat sich als ziemlich schädlingsfrei erwiesen.
